Sam MacLaughlin
Sam MacLaughlin began working in the construction industry as a licensed journeyman electrician in New Mexico, then moved into project management. He relocated to Arizona in 1991 and managed the electrical installation for Nieman Marcus at Fashion Square. In Arizona, Sam worked with a multi-trade contractor managing self-performed framing/drywall, painting, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and concrete trades for tenant improvement and renovation projects. Sam was hired by Sun State Builders changing from managing self-performed trades to subcontracting. He transitioned from tenant improvement to constructing complete office and industrial concrete tilt buildings. Combining his experience, Sam renovated the TCH office in Tempe while occupied after building the company’s new production facility. Sam left his position at Sun State Builders to work with a large electrical contractor on high-profile projects that included State Farm, Sun Devil Stadium, The Sky Train Expansion and Phoenix Suns 2020 Renovation. In 2021 he returned to Sun State Builders as a project manager. Sam strongly believes in teamwork and strives to build a team concept in every project he is involved with. Pulling together leads to a strong finish and a quality building for clients.
