Andrea Piering, Co-Owner and President

Background: Piering is an Arizona native who started at Sun State Builders part-time in 1998, while attending ASU. Piering earned a bachelor of science in biology and chemistry with plans for medical school before realizing her true calling in construction management. Her passion and proficiency quickly elevated her role in project management. During more than two decades with the company, Piering’s ability to execute projects and knack for managing clients earned her promotions to senior project manager, vice president and then president. As president, Piering remains focused on relationship building to support continued company growth and a positive company culture.

Innovative Act: “Most recently, I introduced and began implementing an integration of green LEAN building principles and incorporating them into our design-build process. This is an innovative concept in design-build that provides synergy with our commitment to working more efficiently and ties in well with supporting a more collaborative team strategy. It also formalizes and ensures more success in planning, procurement and overall project efficiencies. We will be rolling out team training in the New Year.”
