Nextfort Data Center was a design build project between, Sun State Builders, Butler Design Group, and Nextfort Ventures. The 30,000 square foot state-of-the-art data center facility is located on 7.6 Acres in Chandler, AZ. The 2012 project featured 10,000 square feet of office space and 20,000 square feet of data center module space. Future building pads and utility infrastructure were constructed to quadruple the amount of data center space in future phases. The data center has 7.5 megawatts of power capacity with infrastructure in place to double that number. The facility was outfitted with a comprehensive lighting protection system. The A/C system was custom designed with Johnson Controls to be highly efficient and deliver up to 60 tons of A/C per 10×40 data center room, which includes one 20 ton unit for redundancy. Data center rooms feature FM-200 dry fire suppression, with pre-action fire protection in remaining rooms of the data center building. The entire facility is protected by an extensive security system including fingerprint recognition, card access, cameras, and bullet proof glass in the lobby. Nextfort’s modern architecture features alucobond metal panels, an architectural composite wood trellis system, structural and perforated steel elements on the facade, polished concrete in the lobby, and stacked bond honed block in the data center corridors.
